Irrespective of whether the facility is subject to the BImSchG or not, various regulations must be observed when storing hazardous substances (CLP Regulation). In addition to TRGS 510 (Storage of hazardous substances in transportable containers), building law, fire protection, occupational safety and health, explosion protection and water protection must be taken into account.

The range of services includes a comprehensive analysis of the project for the existing facility or for a new project. In a concept for the storage of hazardous substances, the building and legal requirements are then compiled and recommendations are made for fulfilling the legal requirements.

The following aspects must be taken into account when storing hazardous substances:

  • Planning law (zoning plan)
  • Building law and fire protection (building application and fire protection concept)
  • Immission control (permit according to BImSchG)
  • Major accident ordinance
  • Water protection (suitability assessment § 63 WHG, notification § 40 AwSV)
  • Occupational safety and health (licence § 18 BetrSichV, explosion protection concept)
